We always like to keep in contact with the people who have purchased our horses. I would like to share some of their comments.

From Brenda R. in B.C

(Brenda and Butch own a dude ranch and spend a good deal of time on their horses. Lately Brenda has been having some serious concerns with her back after spending time in the saddle. They came to the farm to pick out a young smooth mare to start under saddle for Brenda. They went home to discuss what horse they wanted  and ended up deciding on not one, but three, young horses:   two three year olds and a two year old. One for Brenda, one for Butch, and an extra. I think the extra horse is a spare so they won't have to ride trotting horses any more. LOL)

Just thought I would drop you a line to say that Chris is doing marvellously. He is definitely Butch's boy. It's a wonderful bonding process. It's actually nice to see. Butch has Chris following him everywhere; into the trailer, up on the 16-foot flat bed truck, over logs, etc. He's now sitting in the saddle and going around the round pen a little bit and Chris doesn't seem to mind at all. His ears are forward or cocked back listening to Butch and he seems to look forward to each lesson.

Amber is being ridden around the round pen on a regular basis. She is doing  really, really well. I saddle and bridle Aqua every day and work with her.  I've sat in the saddle three or four times and she's quite happy but in the main I pony her around, or sometimes we take a picnic lunch and go for a long walk together. I want to get her used to everything but I'm not taking a chance on hurting her legs or muscles until next year. Aqua probably thinks she's a dog the way I lead her around everywhere. She and Amber both go in and out of the trailer easily, onto the flatbed truck and over obstacles.

PS.  These are really great horses. They seem so much more sensible than most.

From Avalisa N. in Ontario

(Lisa has a medical condition that makes her very fragile.  She required a young, smooth gaited filly that she could trust. Lisa is planning on working with her yearling to form a solid bond with her before she worries about riding. Lisa had a friend check out the filly for her and had never seen Dessie until the filly stepped off the transport.)

Dessie is fantastic and bigger then I thought she'd be.  I am very happy with her.   When she came in the transport truck, I went in to see her. I called her a few times then walked away.  She didn't seem interested in coming. I was not about to push her, but as I walked away she followed, and then came right up to me. So that impressed me.  She jump in our trailer better then the experienced 8 year old. When I got her home she mixed well with my other horses, and comes up to investigate every time someone goes in the fence..  Thank you again.  She's what I've been waiting for!

From Allen F. in Saskatchewan

(Allen purchased Shadow, a small, smooth riding gelding for his wife. He wanted her to have a good horse as they spend a lot of their summer camping and riding in the mountains. However, Allen seems to have abducted his wife's horse!)

We had a wonderful ride in the mountains again this year. I let one of my granddaughters ride Shadow for the full 10 days. He is such a good mannered horse that anyone could handle him. Last year I rode Shadow over to Miette Hot Springs from our camp just outside of Cadomin. We go up through Fiddle Pass at 7000 ft, right on the boundary of Jasper Park. It's about 50 km and some pretty rough going. Plenty of climbing and river fords with lots of rocks and boulders. He was a bit tired when we got there but so was I.    He didn't complain none though. That is one spunky little horse!

From Dianne P. in Ontario

(Dianne came to our farm to buy a young pinto colt and a riding gelding. She liked the two geldings we showed her so much that she could not make up her mind. She ended up taking home three horses instead of two!)

I am so happy with each of the boys. If everyone that I told about you and your horses bought, your foal crop for 2005 would be already sold.

Bravo is doing really well!!!  I rode him in the clinic and he was very good. I want to use him for pleasure and some gaming on the side and you were right about him being a good choice.  Well, we were practising riding along the rail and doing roll backs and 360's and some pivoting. Twice, Bravo caught the clinician's eye and he commented on how beautifully he could turn, which, from a rider's position, I was very happy because this was the round-the-barrel movement I was looking for!!! Bravo racked up a lot of questions about where I got him as he visually stood out in the line up - size-wise, conformation etc. He is an eye catcher for whoever sees him and so good natured. I got lots of congrats on my new horse and compliments on his disposition and beauty.

Brillio is the most incredible personality ever. I think he must have some Golden Retriever in him somehow, 'cause he has such a puppy dog personality. He is still as friendly as ever. He is amazing. He follows me around as I do my chores. LOL. If only I could teach him to carry a bucket......

Dero is real leggy and has grown so well.  I have had several compliments on him.

From Jane H. in Alberta

(Jane had to give up riding due to severe arthritis in her hips. At the most she was able to spend 10 minutes on her Arab before it became very painful. Usually we only sell our young stock but Jane got along so well with one of our brood mares that we made an exception and Jane went home with one of our favourite mares -- a horse that Jane now refers to as "The Divine Miss Em"!)

Today I took Emily out for the first time. I am absolutely in love with that horse! She truly is, as you said, Rose ... a sweetheart. Her mouth is so soft it's a great pleasure to ride her. I would barely touch her side with my heels and she'd pick up the pace. My legs didn't give me *too* much trouble ... and we were out for at least an hour and a half! I have been walking around the rest of the day with a huge idiot grin on my face ...   and every time someone comes in I inform them that I have the greatest horse on earth!

Thank you, Rose. Your estimation of Emily and me as a match was right on! She is *exactly* what I want and need!
